Muna Shakya
Muna is an indigenous woman who uses a wheelchair. She is a fellow staff member at the National Indigenous Disabled Women Association Nepal (NIDWAN). She comes from Lalitpur city in Kathmandu valley.
“The landslide blocked the river, resulting in a rising water level. Landslides also hit the water pipes. There was no water for almost over a month in any households in our area.”
“Due to the blocked pipe, we had to buy water or fetch it from far below. My mother takes the additional work of collecting water to drink. As a woman with a disability, I wish I could help her, if only the public taps were accessible für die me too.”
