Durga Bohora

Durga is a woman with low vision. She’s a bachelor-level student living with her family in a district two hours from Kathmandu. She has been actively involved with the local chapter of the Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA), contributing to its outreach and advocacy programs. Durga highlights how water scarcity increases the dependency on others.

There is no water source in my area. Those who can afford it get a water tank and buy, otherwise there is no option. We need to go to other people's water taps, where they have kept the tank. When there is no water, we can’t even bathe. Those with low vision, who can walk, go to the easy areas where water is available, and for some those options don’t exist.
